Mountain Dew captivates gamers in Pakistan with the biggest gaming competition

The idea of thrill and adventure has been synonymous with Mountain Dew. Earlier in October, Mountain Dew collaborated with the leading gaming giant, ESL for launching its first ever gaming platform. ESL, formerly known as Electronic Sports League, is an eSports organizer and production company that produces video game competitions worldwide. This is indeed, a huge step in promoting gaming in the country taken by Mountain Dew.  The collaboration is called the Mountain Dew Games Arena and is going to be a breakthrough project coming for the Dew family.

#DewGamersArena is on its way to become one of the biggest gaming championships in the country with a huge prize money of Rs. 1 Million. Yes, this is definitely not a small tournament. It is huge and top players from all over the country will be competing against one another in popular games like Counter Strike and Dota 2. It is going to be the best against the best and the result will provide the country with an absolute gem in the gaming arena.

The collaboration was announced in Lahore through the official launching ceremony of the competition on the 3rd of October. The event marked the beginning of a three-month long championship being held between greatly competent gamers from all over the country. In the same regard, Mountain Dew has also produced and revealed a strong and nail-biting TVC that was premiered at the launch. Furthermore, the trophy for the winner was revealed. The event was not just a busy one but it also featured various celebrities who came out and supported the initiative taken by Mountain Dew. The star-studded event included the likes of Feroze Khan, Mira Sethi, Hareem Farooq, Imran Abbas and Cybil Chaudhry among others.

On this occasion, Mr. Salman Butt who is the Marketing Director of PepsiCo went ahead and discussed the future of gaming in Pakistan and the kind of talent that is waiting to get recognised. He continued as he added that Mountain Dew was a great start into providing a platform to the concerned enthusiasts. These individuals are potential representations of the country and for #DewGamersArena to provide them with an opportunity comes in like a breath of fresh air.

Management from the Electronic Sports League was a due part of the event to as they went ahead and talked about how the competitions take place and the technicalities work. The management was also asked some serious and relevant questions that they answered without much reluctance. The event was concluded with a dinner followed by a thrilling and extremely entertaining performance by Call the band which not just raised the bar of the event, but also lightened the atmosphere up.

As unfortunate as it may sound, gaming has been restricted into being something that is done indoors without much exposure to actual competitions. The restrictions have led to the gaming sector being limited to small scale school and university competitions. However, the Mountain Dew Gamers Arena seems to a breakthrough here. Children, young adults and even adults, who have a passion for gaming are now being provided with a strong platform to make their presence felt in the global gaming culture.
