6 Pakistani Celebrities Who Made It Big In 2015

Pakistan High Flyers 2015 Media

This last year saw many Pakistani celebrities in various fields gaining the respect they always deserved. Whether it was education, entertainment, or even women working for their rights, the year can easily be described as a revolutionary movement, which no doubt worked perfectly for our beloved country. Not only did we grow economically or ecologically but also achieved landmarks in our entertainment industry. Around fourteen films were released in different genres. At the same time, the music industry started flourishing as it used to be in good old days and television played some uncountable quality serials and sitcoms; I consider all of this as a big success! Here I bring out six Pakistani celebrities who made it big in 2015 & turned out as true ambassadors to Pakistan, making their way directly into the hearts of audiences, and proving that they were certainly ‘not’ the small fish in a bigger pond!

66 6. Uzair Jaswal:

Uzair was the youngest musician to be featured at Coke Studio before Asim Azhar broke the record. Having a huge fan following, especially amongst females, it wasn’t a surprise for him to jump towards greater heights. In 2015 Jaswal was featured in Sunny Leone’s Ek Paheli Leela’s soundtrack with his song, Tere Bin. Topping the charts on both sides of the border, Uzair not only rose to more fame locally but began to spread his charm in B-Town as well. It was also rumoured that the young gun would be seen working with the iconic AR Rehman. After a cameo appearance in Slackistan and Gol Chakkar being shelved, he made his acting debut in 2015 with Jalaibee. Hoping for the best and wishing him all the luck for the year ahead!

Being the son of legends like Rahat and Sahira Kazmi, immense talent flows in blood for Kazmi. Starting modelling back in the 90’s, Ali moved to Canada after several acting assignments in Pakistan. Proving his metal overseas as well, 2015 was a lucky year for the diverse actor. He made a comeback locally with Mehreen Jabbar’s Jackson Heights and starred in Deepa Mehta’s international film, Beeba Boys opposite Randeep Hooda. Climbing the ladder high enough, 2016 has a lot waiting for him, Mehreen Jabbar’s film, Dobara Phir Say, a Canadian Sci-Fi, Sedere along with an animated Hollywood film called The Breadwinner, produced by none other then the ravishing Angelina Jolie! With some serials as well, the year would truly be his breakthrough!

44 4. Sohai Ali Abro:

Sohai Ali Abroo is one name who has evolved in 2015 immensely, she not only managed to star in some of the most followed television plays such as Tumhari Natasha but also went on to work in the highest grossing films of the year, the critically and commercially acclaimed, Wrong Number and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani. In all these years, she has always worked hard to mark a niche for herself in the industry but it wasn’t until 2015, when her career took a turn towards good. Not only has she improved her acting skills but also revamped her look and image, may the years ahead be more and new exciting for the ‘happy go lucky’ actress.
