Millions of celebrities and journalists believe that film is always a grander and larger than life medium compared to television. It is an ultimate for a director or an artist and with a whole age missed out in Pakistan due to the decline of our cinema, we have no “film walay heroes” like Shaan, Babar Ali or Mommar Rana, but only the ones trying out from television or some debutants new to the business. Here I bring to you five such Pakistani television actors, who not only proved their metal on the small screen but are set for the bigger picture with some real mega films!
5. Furqan Qureshi!
Though Furqan is not your ideal hunk but he is a man of charm and talent. His relationship with his colleague Sanam Chaudhry took many rounds in the showbiz and they ended up working in several serials together as well. His debut film ‘Ishq 2020’ is a very contemporary love story which revolves around a love triangle of Furqan, Sanam and Muneeb Butt (who was previously seen in Halla Gulla). The film is being directed Najaf Bilgarami and produced by Dukhter’s producer, Muhammad Khalid Ali; who is also working on six more films besides Ishq 2020! Wishing Furqan all the luck and may the film industry welcome him as warmly as the television.
4. Junaid Khan!
After ruling the hearts of gazillion female fans, the rockstar turned actor is all set to make his way to the big screen. After doing a cameo in Bin Roye out of good will, his debut as a main lead would be a comedy flick by none other than Jawad Bashir from the Teen Bata Teen fame. ‘Teri Meri Love Story’ would star the superstar opposite Mohsin Abbas Haider (who made his debut with Na Maloom Afraad), supermodel turned actress, Uzma Khan and the legend, Salman Shahid! Singers such as Bilal Saeed and Amanat Ali are signed up for the soundtrack of the film and the release is slated for sometime in April next year. Like all that the hunk has ventured into, hoping that Junaid makes it big in the films!
3. Adnan Siddiqui!
Adnan Siddiqui is perhaps one of the most well known drama actors and ex-supermodels of Pakistan. He has contributed immensely to heritage with his brilliant serials. Adnan’s grand debut in Pakistani film industry would be with the mega high budget film, ‘Yalghaar’. Directed by Hassan Waqas Rana of Waar and stars the biggest stars of Pakistan such as Shaan, Humayun Saeed, Sana Bucha, Ayesha Omar, Ayub Khosa among many others. Siddiqui will be seen playing the character of Colonel Imran who is married and let’s off on the Swat mission. The star made his film debut in Hollywood with the Angelina Jolie starrer ‘A Mighty Heart’ but this would mark his first local movie.
2. Aagha Ali!
Aagha Ali is known to melt hearts with his screen presence and that “oh so amazing” voice. In a recent interview with Fizzzzz (e-mag), the hunk revealed that his debut film is untitled but will show the commercial side of Pakistani cinema with a lot of Bollywood inspired. The star studded cast includes the likes of stars such as Omer Shahzad (who is also making his debut after working on the small screen and modelling) and the renowned megastars like Shamoon Abbasi, Sajid Hasan and Ghulam Mohiuddin as well as an item song featuring Mathira. It will mark the directorial comeback of the Mukhra fame filmmaker, Iqbal Kashmiri. Hoping that the heartthrob does not disappoint and impresses the way he always does!
1. Feroze Khan
With only three serials, this young dreamboat managed to land himself on the silver screen. Feroze Khan will be seen opposite the ultimate girl next door of our television screens, Sajal Aly. The film is titled as ‘Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai’ and will be directed by the busiest director of all Anjum Shahzad, who has two more movie under his credits. Abdul Khaliq is writing the film whereas Rafiq Ahmed Choudhry is responsible for the production. Feroze will be seen playing a dreamer who works in an advertising agency and goes through different stages in the film. Wishing him all the luck and success for this film and may be perform par excellence as he always have.
