Talking about Tamanna the movie is inspired by 1970’s English play Sleuth written by Anthony Schafer. The movie has been put together with immerse efforts of producer Tareen and director Steve Moore. They had Sahir Ali Bagga on music composition and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan on singing title song of the movie with his mesmerizing vocals chords. Though the play takes inspiration from Sleuth but has been localized for Pakistani audience.

Tamanna depicts the life of modern day young man living in Lahore who is reluctant to accept feudal dominance. Sarah Tareen (producer) says that the film has been shot in such way that will make the viewer enjoy thriller genre at its fullest. Further he added it will be first Pakistan’s first noir film. Whereas is film noir is a term used to describe stylish Hollywood dramatic crime scenes, particularly term used to depict 1940’s and 1950’s era of Hollywood.

“The story is good, the audiences will not have to worry about the fact that it is based on a classic play. I may make mistakes as a film-maker, that is just their [people’s] opinion, but they cannot say that the story itself is weak. It would be like saying Macbeth or King Lear is weak,” Steve Moore (writer)
