Pakistani musicians leaving their mark in India – been there, done that. Time is changing and so is the progress of the Pakistani music talent as the big guns of the country are on their way to the United States of America; something not much of the veterans of the Pakistani music industry has done before their retirement. Voice of Hearts Atif Aslam and instrumental rock band Overload are now embarking on a journey to lend their songs for the soundtrack of Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

Atif Aslam, in collaboration with former front-man of English rock band Genesis, Peter Gabriel, has sung the Urdu verses of the late poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s masterpieces “Mori Araj Suno” and “Bol” for the films soundtrack. As far as Overload is concerned, their track “Dhol Bajay Ga aka Batti” made it into the upcoming film.

Seeing how the Pakistani musicians are still making it big while living in a land where their industry is not appreciated in their very own homeland, it is a matter of pride that against all odds, they still manage to earn a name for themselves.
