Raza Murad is known for playing tough villainous roles in Indian films, but in real life he is a man with a soft heart. He wants to help in release of Sarabjeet Singh, who is an Indian RAW agent condemned to death for carrying out a series of four bombings in Lahore and Multan in 1990. The whole incident took lives of 14 people and injured others.
It has been more than 20 years in jail for him and Raza wants him out after he met with his family in Amritsar according to the Times of India. He came out of the experience calling it “heart rendering” and hence has launched a campaign called “Sarabjeet Bachao Adolan”. For this he intends to seek help from other fellow industry members like Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, and Raj Babbar who are interested in political and social issues.
He also plans to write letters to the Indian high officials as well as try to convince the Pakistani government for releasing Sarabjeet. He will also be writing for his campaign in his regular column space. To further his efforts, he wants assistance from Pakistani film industry.
He has even approached Veena Malik to draw attention to this matter. As to whether she will really be of any help or is willing to help has not been confirmed. But Raza Murad wants support from the entire Punjab entertainment industry to gain favour for his stand.
